So I am basically updated our blog first and foremost so we as a family have a record of things that happen with our adoption journey, however I know everyone gets curious about the progress in our journey as well so this is for you too!!
So first of Tuesday we got a Birthmother "situation" call regarding a Birthmother who was due in August with a Baby Boy. After looking through this situation, researching what needed to be researched, talking & praying we came to the conclusion that this was not the right situation for us.
Then this morning (Thursday) we received another Birthmother "situation" call however this one was super urgent..why you ask??? Well the baby BOY was born a few days ago. This meant that we could be flying out to welcome a baby boy into our family like this weekend, however as researching again and reading the situation information that was provided this was just not right either.
Every time I read the situations and hear these stories it just breaks my heart that we can't help each one. For the most part these situations are Birthmothers we have been using illicit drugs during their pregnancy's, maybe not the whole thing but a good part of it. I honestly wish we could help each one in one way but like my dad said to me today, "Kari you just can't save the world!!" Although I would like to try!!
Please continue to pray for our family as this adoption journey unfolds that God will clearly direct us when the right situation is presented. Please also PRAY for the Birthmothers & babies that have already been presented to us. These children did not ask to be brought into this sometimes downright horrible situations but they are all God's Children and should all be loved & cared for.
