On Sunday afternoon we received a call from a Birthmother who lives in Seattle and is due the beginning of October. Needless to say I was really interested in hearing her story and getting to know her better. I asked all the necessary questions...reason for choosing adoption, Birthfather known, medical insurance and more. After all the answers seemed really GREAT so mentioned I am having twins...WHAT?!?! Then mentioned they were a boy and girl...my heart skipped a beat!! I was super excited but really hesitant at the same time. Brandon & I really feel deep down we are only a two child family, although we know God could have other plans. I told that on Monday I would speak to my lawyer and we could find a day to come down to Seattle to meet in person. Fine...we hung up the phone. About 10 minutes following I received a text from her stating that she needed help...what kind I asked?? She needed money for food...OK RED FLAG!!! After some more talking both to her and Brandon we decided to one we could not parent twins and two this was definitely a scam. We told her unfortunately the meeting was off. Thank goodness we did come to find out from an Adoption Scam Facebook Group that I am on...she is trying to scam waiting adoptive parents all over Western Washington...bingo our gut instinct was right!!
Anyway I just don't get it...it's really disheartening & sick to know there are Birthmother "scammers" out there taking advantage of waiting adoptive families. Please if you are a waiting adoptive family (which I know someone of you) remember to get all the details first and go with your gut instinct. We refuse to be victims of this game when as we are trying to do is follow God's calling for our family!!

That's so sad. Wonder if she's even pregnant?? Glad you went with your gut!
