Adoption Updates...

We are proud to say that our riding lawn mower that we no longer use was finally sold on Friday...this may sound weird to you that we are excited about this but this means that we can officially schedule and pay for our Home Study...this also means we are one step closer to our goal of being on the "waiting list" by the end of June.

Garage Sale Update...
So the week has finally come our ADOPTION GARAGE SALE is scheduled for this week Friday & Saturday (16th & 17th) from 8-4. We will be having a huge and I mean huge garage sale thanks to everyone's donations & also a bake sale to raise funds to "Bring Our Angel Home". Please come to our garage sale next week and also pass this information along to anyone who may also be interested. There is also a flyer that I posted for our garage sale in one of the past posts...you can save it to your computer and then print it off with all the information...also some of it is listed below:

We Look Forward to Seeing You All There!!
Adoption Update...
So like I posted up above we are now working on the Home Study...this is probably the hardest part of the whole Adoption process (not counting the waiting game). We received our huge packet of paperwork at the beginning of March and are slowly plugging away at it...although with Brandon working turn-a-round, the garage sale & daily working and life...this has somewhat not gone as quickly as we would have liked. Needless to say God has provided in every way possible and we are continuing to know that it is all in his timing...totally out of our control. As of right now our Home Study is scheduled for April 26th & 29th. On the 26th, Rebecca, our adoption specialist is coming to our house to first take a tour to make sure that it is fitting place to raise a baby & also do my (Kari's individual interview) and on the 29th we are heading into Bethany Christian for Brandon's Individual Interview and also our "couples" interview. I thought that this was a couples thing anyway. At the time of the Home Study we need to have our paperwork pretty much completed...this includes a list of 35 essay questions that we each have to answer. I cannot tell you how much they dig into your personal life and how hard these questions are to answer...every time we start working on them we just say a little prayer asking God to help us convey what is in our hearts. Then the next step is doctor's physicals including blood draws (which I am not a fan of) & our life insurance medical exam too (another blood draw). Seriously I thought that not being pregnant I would not to have to endure doctor's and blood draws. Oh well one step closer to bringing our baby home...it's worth it :) What else to tell you...sorry I guess I am spilling my guts this time :) Besides that paperwork we are also given the task to create a profile book (like a shutter fly photo book) that tells the story of us and our life. Let me tell you when you are trying to keep your last name and where you live a secret this can be a challenge when trying to make captions. Once those are completed, paperwork turned in, training done (June 12th in Seattle) then they submit our paperwork for approval. This means hopefully by the end of June we will be approved to be on the "waiting list"...then it is completely in God's hands and timing. We could be picked by a birth family within 1 week or 2 years then we have to wait for the actual birth. The only thing right now seperating us from bringing our child home is time & money. But God always provides and we have full faith it is all in his hands. He gave us this wonderful opportunity & we are going to take full advantage of it and hopefully be able to help other families who are adopting down the road. Please continue to pray as these journey is just beginning...more updates to come soon!!!

Kudos to you on the fundraising - you are rocking it!
And HUGS, I know the paperwork and interviews can be daunting. Be encouraged though that they WANT to find homes for these children, and they don't WANT to deny you. They want to see you suceed almost as bad as you want to.
Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
