Part 1 of 2 - Home Study

So last night Brandon & I headed into Bellingham to the Bethany Christian Services office to complete Part 1 of our 2 part home study. Last night our Home Study interviews consisted of our couples interview & Brandon's individual interview. I cannot tell you how easy these interviews actually are...we were kind of nervous what questions they would ask and how this whole process would go. She asked questions about our relationship through dating to married, why we have chose to adopt & then asked Brandon questions about his parents/siblings and growing up. I cannot tell you how proud I was of Brandon and his answers :)
We were also told that as soon as we get approved and are on the list (which looks like June 15th) we could receive a call basically at any moment. Last week actually someone in Bellingham was in labor & was choosing an adoptive family. She called Rebecca at Bethany and then she called the family and said are you ready for a baby?!?! What? They only had 4 hours to get things together and get there. We were also told that most likely our child will be born in Oregon or Washington State...which makes traveling a lot easier...no trying to get plane tickets in little to no time. We were also told that due to the fact that it could be all the sudden we need to have to have all the baby necessities purchased...this includes:
* Car Seat w/ stroller
* Bottles
* Pacifiers
* Blankets
* Diapers/Wipes
etc....
This is kind of exciting we can now start purchasing baby items although I cannot tell you how hard it is to pick out a car seat & stroller system...I think I am just too picky :)
So for all you mothers out there do you have any suggestions on car seat & stroller brands or whether strollers or joggers are better...
I will update probably on Friday about our home study on Thursday (Part 2) goes. Rebecca is coming to our house to do my individual interview along with the house inspection...sounds like fun!!!

Hi Kari,
Every so often when I get a chance I read your blog! Sounds like the adoption process is going well! Just wanted to give you my two cents on strollers/carseats...I got the chicco key fit car seat and LOVE it! As for stroller, I have the uppababy vista, it's a bit spendy but i also LOVE it. My second choice would be a BOB...
Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Hey Kari I found your blog and have been reading it the last few months. Congrats on the adoption hope it continues to all fall in to place and you will soon have your precious little baby to hold. I just bought an Eddie Bauer carseat and stroller combo at Target for our baby and it worked great for the things we needed to for, all though the carseat itself was on the heavier side. He has outgrown the carseat but I still use the stroller.
