I know you have all been anticipating my post regarding how our trip to Idaho was so here is the story....
Mom & I boarded this plane on Wednesday afternoon in Bellingham, although the plane was scheduled to fly out at 3:00 we did not end up leaving until 4:00 which made our wait only 30 minutes in Seattle.

We have never flown first from Bellingham before and secondly where you can enter from both the front or back door. It was actually really nice when we left Bellingham but when we would return on Friday is would be cold and rainy...good ole' Washington weather for ya!!!

Mom & I on the plane...

Ok so now for the story...we flew into Boise, Idaho around 8:00 PM their time meaning we had not ate dinner yet. So we quickly found our rental car which mind you was a small Nissan Versa, this one was absolutely gutless...Mom found that out early on when she almost killed me (just kidding not that close). Once we had ate dinner we then proceeded to head to our hotel which is located about 20 minutes outside of Boise. This is also where Brandon & I had stayed last time we visited the Birthmother and this is where we will call home when we get "the call" that Westyn is on his way...it is only 5 minutes from the birthing center. On Thursday morning we got up ate breakfast at the hotel and then headed to the Boise Mall...you knew we were going to find a mall now didn't you!! Take my advice if you are ever in Boise the Towne Center is AWESOME shopping, everything so close together!!! We then decided around 12:30 that it was about time to call our Birthmother and head to their house. Once we arrived we were greeted by our Birthmother, her mother & her 2-year-old niece. Our Birthmother was well prepared she had an agenda all wrote out of things she wanted to ask us and also things she wanted to show us. She first proceed to show us a scrapbook that she was making for Westyn with pictures of her family in it...this way he will know who his birth family is. Then she & her mom showed us this precious (I mean precious) quilt that they were making for Westyn to take home from the hospital...it's called a cuddle bug quilt. There were fabrics chosen with all our favorite animals, different texture fabrics and lots of different colors. Then she asked some questions that she still wanted answers to and I proceeded to answer them as best as I could without my hubby there for his say too. It then was time to head to her doctor's appointment (the reason I was there)...we found out a week before going there that an ultrasound would not be performed because it wasn't medically necessary and after researching and calling a 3D ultrasound place in Boise we found out they were closed. But we were able to hear his heartbeat and see how things were progressing. During that appointment they did tell her that her blood pressure was a little high and she did have some increased swelling. Currently they are just monitoring that but if preclampsia sets in then they may induce or deliver early for everyone's safety. The doctor mentioned too that if she would go into labor at anytime they would not stop it at this point. The doctor was super friendly and made my mom & I feel completely comfortable. We even had something in common, he adopted his daugther 3 year ago!!! Once the appointment was over we headed back to their house to pick up her sister and head to their favorite Mexican restaurant...it was AWESOME!!! We enjoyed our dinner then she asked if we would like to go back to the house at this point, so we said yes for a little while knowing we would fly out early the next morning. Once we returned she proceeded to tell me how she actually chose Brandon & myself. Then she proceeded to explain more of why she is chosing adoption for Baby Westyn and what she would like for contact in the future. She continued to state over and over that this adoption if final, she is not going to change her mind & I am fully confident in that. Around 7:30 we then left their house and drove to the nearest Cold Stone...it was much needed after such an emotional day. We then headed back to our hotel, ate our ice cream and settled in for the night knowing we had an early morning. We flew out of Boise around 9:00 AM and arrive back in Bellingham around noon, which was good because it gave me plenty of time to unpack and unwind before reality started again.
All in all it was GREAT trip but very emotional too...we cannot believe that we are literally hours to days to 3 weeks away from meeting our SON!!! It has been a long time coming and we are so excited for this next step in our life. Although we are a little nervous (like every first time parent is), overwhelmed that we will be given this life and overjoyed to finally welcome WESTYN HOME safe & sound in our arms!! Please continue to pray for us as the rest of our journey unfolds.

Yay! Glad everything went well. I can't imagine how excited you must be! Will it be pretty easy to get a quick flight out there if they decide to do a c-section or something?

Hi there! I've been following your blog for a little while and just wanted to say I'm so excited for you! Can't wait until you have your baby in your arms! I wonder if he will have a February or March birthday! Best wishes to you and your hubby!
I love that you have had faith from day 1 of your match and the wonderful connection you have with the birth mom and her family. I'm so excited for the day your baby boy is in your arms. I like to call your match a "dream match".
Praising God that things went well with the visit with the birth mom and family.
You are on a very exciting adventure.
I may have told you that we have an adopted granddaughter. She was born a month early but was healthy even though she only weighed 4lbs. 9 oz. We got her when she was just a couple of weeks old and now she is 18.
Everything has been wonderful...and I pray your experience will be wonderful too.
