Let's just say things have been interesting on the adoption front...where to start?!?!
At the beginning of July my Mom, Westyn & I ventured to downtown Seattle to meet with an adoption lawyer about "networking" ourselves in the private/independent adoption world. We received some great advice, learned a lot and also realized we have so many more options than we knew before. Needless to say we are slowly trying to put these "marketing/networking" ideas to use.
We also have been speaking to an Aunt of a Birthmother who is expecting in early October, however after almost 3 months of chatting back and forth things went slowly down hill. The Birthmother because of poor choices that she made can no longer choose adoption...sadly they are turning everything over to the state. This is really hard for Brandon & I to take...although we never met her we grew to love her, her family and unborn baby (oh we found out 3 weeks ago it is a boy)!! We prayed for them daily, thought about them constantly and imagined our lives being connected...we will continue to pray for them all as they still have a hard road to travel.
So needless to say right now we WAIT!!! We wait on God's timing, his perfect plan and his leading...he knows who child is destined for our family we just need to trust and rely on him. In the meantime we will continue to do all we can do to market ourselves...so here is what we are asking:
1. Continue to pray for our family...this road is more challenging them Westyn's adoption. It's hard to not get bummed and wonder if we ever will welcome baby #2 into our family.
2. Pray for all the Birthmother's out there who have to make the decision of adoption for their child. Pray for strength, peace and wisdom because honestly they have the hardest decision.
3. Help us in spreading our names around...because you just never know!! As the lawyer said to us...everyone that has a pulse could know someone who is choosing adoption. Tell everyone you know to spread the word...so that is where you come in!!
We are in the process of creating flyers to hang around town and pass out...if you own a business and would allow us too we would love to hang up one of our "Hoping to Adopt Again" flyers along with dropping off some adoption pass along cards with our information. If this is something you are willing to do please let me know...you can e-mail me at bkmulder@hotmail.com. If you would also just like to pass along our cards that would be great too...I can drop them off or mail them!! The more help the better...this even means anyone out of state!!!
